Day 161: Bleeding Gel Saddle

Has anyone ever used a gel saddle on thier bike? That's what I've been using and the thing has started cracking and gooey gel is slightly leaking out! So, time to get another saddle. I guess I can say I squished the crap out of it.

I hear that a good hard and saddle is the way to go. It's time to get one.

At least we're using our saddles, right?

See ya,

Don

  2. Don, keep it up. It will be totally worth it. Wearing out a saddle just means your working hard to meet your goal. Here's to wearing out many more saddles to come.

  3. I hate the seat that I have at the gym, it hurts my back. Finding a seat is gonna be like finding a good pair of running shoes. Might be expensive, but your ass will thank you...I think :)

    1. I understand that what might seem like a nice soft seat at first, actually creates movement, and in the long run can cause blisters and sores. It's like a running-shoe that doesn't fit snug and allows your foot to move around...sooner or later you're going to get blisters.

So, initially the gel seat worked and has been okay, but I think it's now time to graduate to a good ole hard leather seat. I'm sure it will again take a little getting used to, but it will be the right thing to do.

Also, I am supposed to get clip-on cleats and pedals too! Yikes...scary!
